The United Methodist Development Fund (The UMDF) provides first mortgage loans for United Methodist churches, districts, city societies, district unions, and conference church extension societies; for new construction, renovations, additions, relocations, and parsonages.
Loan priorities for The UMDF are ethnic minority local churches, first unit building construction, renovation or remodeling existing facilities, site purchases, purchase or remodeling of parsonages, and refinancing existing loans.
Applications are acted upon by the directors on a monthly basis. Please call the office (212-870-3865) for the loan processing schedule and to request a loan application packet.
The UMDF currently has more than $114 million in outstanding loans and loan commitments. This unprecedented amount indicates the high level of commitment The Fund has to church extension and renewal.
After over 45 years of exemplary service, The UMDF continues to play an invaluable role in enabling United Methodists to practice "connectional stewardship" for the sake of church growth.
