The United Methodist School of Congregational Development, sponsored by the Joint Committee on Congregational Development, is an annual event aimed at helping annual conferences and congregations "grow the church" through new congregational starts and the strengthening of existing congregations. The 2007 event happened from August 2-7 at Church of the Resurrection, Leawood, Kansas

The next School of Congregational Development will be held simultaneously at two cities, Orlando, Florida, and Grand Rapids, Michigan on July 31- August 5. 2008 are Orlando, Florida, and Grand Rapids, Michigan. The Florida Conference and St. Luke's United Methodist Church in Orlando and the West Michigan Conference and Cornerstone Church in Grand Rapids will host these events.

The Joint Committee for Congregational Development works with annual conferences and congregations to form new faith communities and revitalize existing churches.
