Executive Director, United Methodist Community Center
The United Methodist Community Center, a non-profit human service institution located in Youngstown and Warren, Ohio, is seeking a forward-thinking, ambitious, and innovative individual for the position of Executive Director. The purpose of the United Methodist Community Center is to provide a facility and leadership, in cooperation with other neighborhood and community groups, with which to minister to the whole life of the surrounding community. The Center is in a covenant relationship with the General Board of Global Ministries of the United Methodist Church.
Job Duties:
Responsibilities for this position of Executive Director will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- The planning, directing, and coordinating all aspects and functions of the Community Center;
- The developing and sustaining of working relationships with other community and church institutions and programs, as well as with coordinating and planning groups;
- The determination and assessment of community/constituency needs as a basis for local, state, and national planning and action;
- The development and administration of all programs and services;
- The management of personnel, finances, property maintenance, and fund raising.
Qualifications:
The successful candidate must possess a degree from an accredited school and/or equivalent work experience commensurate with the job requirements/expectations; experience and/or training in all phases and functions of administration, program planning, and development; excellent written and verbal communication skills. Experience in fundraising is considered a plus. Additionally, in this time of ever-changing societal needs, the successful candidate must be able to think creatively, determine alternative courses of action to challenges which arise, and be willing and able to think strategically.
Salary:
Competitive, commensurate with qualifications and experience.
Starting Date:
Position available on June 1, 2009.
