Sierra Leone

The German-speaking Christians of the Church of the United Brethren in Christ, in 1855, chose Sierra Leone for mission work.  Despite setbacks and challenges, denomination established preaching points, churches, schools, and clinics in more and more villages. Finally--as a result of denominational mergers in 1946  and 1968 --the mission emerged as the Sierra Leone Annual Conference of The United Methodist Church.
