The General Board of Global Ministries, the global mission agency of The United Methodist Church, seeks to be faithful to God's mission throughout the world. It is rooted in The United Methodist Church's outreach across all boundaries that divide the human family. It is theologically centered in witness to God's self-giving love in Jesus Christ.

Global Ministries seeks, on behalf of The United Methodist Church, to embody the Christian and Wesleyan conviction that all of life is within the promise of the saving, judging reign of God.

Mission Papers are published every four years by the General Board of Global Ministries of The United Methodist Church specifically for the delegates to General Conference, which will happen in Fort Worth, Texas, on April 23-May 2, 2008. The objective is to engage United Methodist clergy and lay leaders in considering pressing mission challenges and opportunities as they come together to enact legislation affecting the global church. The papers are also made available online to the church and public at large.
