Women's Division Forum with The Renew Network
About the Forum
On September 21 from 10:00am -12:00 pm (EST) at the Oxnam Memorial Chapel of Wesley Theological Seminary in Washington, D.C., six leaders from the United Methodist Women's Division - representing about one-million members -- dialogued with six panelists of the RENEW organization -- an affiliate of the Good News Network -- a conservative, evangelical group that has been calling for reform of the Division for more than a decade. Both sides dialogued on a range of issues evolving in both church and society -- theological differences, conservativism, accountability, political and social involvement, women's role in the church, interfaith relations, and common ground for faith relations. The two groups chose six panelists for the dialogue and a professor of the seminary was be the independent moderator for the event.
