Background / History

a) Amity Printing Press was established in 1987 as a joint venture between The Amity Foundation and the United Bible Societies, to give priority to printing the Bible and Christian literature. It has become one of the largest joint venture book printing companies in China. During its 21 years history, it has gained great success in Bible printing. The celebration ceremony for the completion of 50 millionth Bible was held in December 2007 in Nanjing. The inauguration of new factory area was held in May 2008.

Mission

a) To print more Bibles and Christian literature to serve Christians in China.
b) To increase the production proficiency and capacity thereby making Bibles more affordable to Christians in impoverished areas.

Goals & Objectives

a) To print 4000 Bibles per year for distribution in churches in China, helping to satisfy the demand for them.
b) To enable more Christians to have access to getting Bibles, Hymns and other Christian literature at an affordable price. A pew Bible costs 25 RMB ($3.60).

Activities Plan

The Amity Printing Press has moved to a new site and acquired equipment that has a production capacity of 3 million Bibles per year.

Project Outcomes

a) The production capacity and efficiency will be improved.
b) More Chinese Christians can purchase Bibles and Christian literature within China.
c) Christians could get high-qualified printed Bibles at lower and affordable price.
d) Christianity can reach more people.
